Bob Prescott began his volunteer service to the Red Cross in July of 1954. According to his wife Pat, "Bob has always enjoyed helping others and working with people". She also added, "I think Bob needed to get out of the house now and then" especially when the couple was raising their eleven children.
Bob has held a number of volunteer positions at Red Cross. During the Korean and Vietnam Wars, Bob was the Duty Worker for the Concord Area Chapter manning the telephone at night and weekends to process emergency calls for servicemen and their families. With his background in accounting, Prescott served as the ChapterŐs Treasurer and Chairman during the early and mid eighties. During this time Bob was employed as the Vice President of the Concord Group Insurance Company.
Bob and his wife Pat have enjoyed retirement for the past 17 years. Bob keeps busy with maintaining his home and yard and is also busy making Shaker furniture. He is nearly finished with creating an heirloom for each of his eleven kids.
Bob is still an active volunteer with the American Red Cross, auditing its books on a monthly basis.
