MORE classes for LNA's!
The LNA certification program at the Granite Chapter has been
growing fast. They have added several new LNA I classes, and now offer an LNA II
class.
LNA I is the entry level course for anyone interested in
becoming a Licensed Nurse Assistant. A high school diploma or GED is not
required, but you must be at least 16 years old to enroll. This 9-week class
covers classroom, lab, & clinical training for basic health care skills. After
passing the course, graduates have American Red Cross certification and take the
NH Board of Nursing licensing exam. There are many employment opportunities with
good benefits for new LNAs. LNAs are an important part of health care teams and
valuable support to nurses.
LNA II is the course for LNAs needing more advanced training
and looking for career advancement. There are 38 hours of classroom time, 15
hours of lab and 32 hours clinical. Students learn advanced skills including
feeding tubes, pulse oximetry, blood glucose monitoring, wound care, and many
other skills. All the chapter’s LNA courses are taught by licensed Registered
Nurses who are also experienced and certified Red Cross instructors. To see the
