Government Relations is EssentialCONCORD - Feb 26, 2007 - Disasters happen at anytime, anywhere to anyone. The American Red Cross needs your help in guiding policy makers to make the best choices when it comes to meeting the needs of our local communities, towns, schools and businesses when disasters strike. Be a Government Relations Advocate and help us - help you. At the local level, several volunteer members of Disaster Action Teams (DATs) have become government liaisons to help keep their community leaders informed about the work and services of the Red Cross. These people play a vital role in establishing strong communication links so that all emergency management leaders in each town or city are aware of the work of the Chapter and called for chapter services when needed. The National Government Relations Team has provided informational resources for all of us to get involved with national legislation. Email, call or write your Congress man or woman and request their support for your American Red Cross today! See the story on Important Red Cross Legislation.
