Disaster Volunteer Visits Israel

CONCORD - September 14, 2006 - During a family trip to Israel, Ken Roos, disaster volunteer with the Concord Area Chapter, visited the Red Star of David, an organization that was recently accepted into the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement.
All the emergency services in Israel, including ambulance services, are provided by the Red Star of David. Roos pointed out that many of the ambulance vehicles have been purchased with private funds from the United States.
While in that country, Roos also visited the Southern Regional Headquarters of the Red Star of David, located in the Negev Desert.
