CONCORD - September 6, 2006 - Concord Panera Café on Fort Eddy Road in Concord recently donated $5,000 to the Concord Area Chapter of the American Red Cross. The donation is the result of a partnership between Panera and the American Red Cross at the national level.
Contribution containers, labeled "Operation Doughnation," have been placed by cash registers throughout the year. The total gathered in the containers is matched by Panera. The check this year to the Chapter was given by Bill Stamatis, Store Manager, Concord Panera Café and to Priscilla Greene, Chapter Executive Director. The Concord Panera Café is owned by PR Restaurants LLC of Newton MA.
The monies will be used for the work of the Concord Area Chapter, a non-profit, community service organization dedicated to providing disaster relief and emergency aid in central and northern New Hampshire. The Red Cross helps people prevent and prepare for as well as respond to emergencies by offering health and safety education, disaster response, emergency preparedness, blood services, military communications and international tracings.
