Red Cross Opens Branch Office in Belmont

| The American Red Cross Belmont Branch Office kicked off their Grand Opening ceremony with an official Ribbon-Cutting Ceremony. Priscilla Greene, Executive Director of the American Red Cross Chapter serving the Concord Area, Lakes Region and North Country, cut the official ribbon with the help from Karyn Madore, Board Chair, John Thomas, NH State Representative, Theresa Pinto Lamson, Executive Director of the Greater Laconia-Weirs Beach Chamber of Commerce, local public safety officials, Chamber representatives, and Red Cross employees and volunteers. |
Concord, NH - June 21, 2006 -- On Wednesday, June 21, the Town of Belmont welcomed the Belmont Branch Office of the American Red Cross Chapter serving the Concord Area, Lakes Region and North Country with Grand Opening and Ribbon- Cutting ceremonies at the Belknap Mall. Priscilla Greene, Chapter Executive Director, cut the official ribbon with help from Karyn Madore, Board Chair, and Chamber of Commerce ambassadors and other community dignitaries.
"The expansion and relocation effort allow us to better respond to the immediate needs of local residents when disaster strikes," said Priscilla Greene, Executive Director. "We help strengthen the local community with CPR, first aid training, health education courses, and other lifesaving services, building a safer community through training, preparation and response."
Following the ribbon-cutting, guests viewed displays and demonstrations and toured the new facility where the public can attend classes in lifesaving CPR, First Aid, and medical career training. A pizza lunch, generously donated by Sal's Pizza, was enjoyed by all. Open House events continued through Friday, June 23.
The public is encouraged to stop by the Belmont Branch Office. There are opportunities to sign up for a variety of classes. Learn how to become involved in Red Cross volunteer experiences, such as becoming a First Aid/CPR/AED instructor or being part of a trained team that responds to local house fires and floods.
