CONCORD - August 15, 2006 - The day of graduation finally came for 30 students training to become Licensed Nurse Assistants (LNAs) through the program at the Concord Area Chapter of the American Red Cross. With their families cheering them on, each received a rose and a pin on their uniforms. They are now ready to serve their community with valuable healthcare skills.
For the last 9 weeks, these students have participated in the training program to become LNAs. They learned about care of sick or elderly people, and became certified in CPR, first aid and use of an Automated External Defibrillator (AED).
More than half of the graduates have jobs already waiting for them. LNAs can work in long-term facilities, home healthcare, and hospital settings.
