Golf Tournament: A Great Success!
 |
| Golfers sign in for a day at the country club to benefit the Red Cross chapter. |
CONCORD - September 20, 2006 - Tuesday, September 19, was a fine day to be on the golf course. The American Red Cross, Concord Area Chapter, hosted the 6th Annual "Save a Life" Golf Tournament at the Canterbury Woods Country Club.
The enthusiastic golfers played 18 holes. They also joined in the breakfast and lunch and won several generous prizes donated by area businesses. Prizes included a set of golf clubs for the first person to sink a hole-in-one, a pair of downhill parabolic skis, snowshoe rental package, a digital camera and color printer set, a family camping package, four free rounds of golf, and much more.

| The morning haze soon burned off for a beautiful day on the course at Canterbury Woods Country Club. |
The event raised funds that will be used to support the lifesaving services in our communities through the work of the Red Cross Chapter, including preparedness and response during disasters; training in CPR, first aid, water safety and babysitting skills; emergency communications for families in our armed forces; and access to a safe and adequate blood supply.
This fun day happened because of outstanding help from so many. A cheer of thanks to all who participated, especially the golfers, the event sponsors and prize donors, staff of the Canterbury Woods Country Club, and the Red Cross volunteers.
The Chapter serves the Concord Area, Lakes Region, and North Country. For more information, call (800) 464-6692 or (603) 225-6697.
